Carol Abram, owner of Scraphead responded to the Week #1 Question of " How are you thinking of creating your holiday card this year?" by saying:
"When we first married we featured our dog on the front of our holiday cards. Then as our children came along, we added them into the designs too. Most years I have created cards that are funny or silly and usually reflect something memorable that happened that year. (Like the one below from the year the Red Sox finally lifted the curse and won the World Series). The only time I have created a serious card was in 2001 when all I could think to mention was our wish for peace.
This year I imagine I will have to work hard to convince my teenage daughters to participate. Every year older they are, the more self conscious they become. Fortunately, the dog never complains. I am planning a more elegant an serious approach this year, possibly using a close-up portrait of my girls as this is the last year we will have my oldest daughter at home before she leaves for college. If I include our dog, that will be a much harder shot to capture all three of them at their best. Especially the dog!
I am thinking I will probably do a New Year's card instead of Hanukkah this year as Hanukkah is REALLY early (December 4!) That way I have alot more time to make my creation, get it printed and send them out.
Here is a card from the year that the Red Sox finally broke the curse and won the World Series."
