Kate has been scrapbooking for 12 years. She received an honorable mention for Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame—twice! When Kate had a relapse with MS and her right hand went numb, paper scrapping became too difficult. She then turned to digi-scrapping and quickly fell in love with it.
Soon after, Kate started designing for Designer Digitals and then became a prestigious Two Peas in a Bucket Garden Girl. She has also designed stamps, paper and stickers for Fontwerks and served on the inaugural creative board for Simple Scrapbooks Digital Scrapbooking magazine. Currently, Kate is a designer at Design House Digital and is loving it.
In addition to designing for DHD, Kate is a part–time 2nd grade teacher.

Inspiration For Sentimental Sweets Album – Susie Roberts.
Imagine yourself on Mother’s Day giving your mother or daughter a recipe book you created yourself with all your favorite family desserts! Susie Roberts, a veteran Shutterfly book creator from Australia, and the Album Art Director at ScrappersGuide.com, had a dream to make it easy for scrapbookers to do this. Here, in her own words, is how the album came to be:
The inspiration for the Sentimental Sweets recipe album, comes from my love of combining family photos with favourite family recipes.
A couple of years ago I created a Christmas recipe book, which was featured in Shutterfly. The avalanche of emails I received from people wanting to make one just like it, made me realize how popular the concept is.
A friend of mind, who is relatively new to digital scrapbooking, and a very keen cook, asked me to help her create one too. She featured special recipes by the matriarchs in her family whose photos appeared on the opposite pages.
I cannot imagine a more beautiful way to pass on family recipes, than by creating an album that features photos of the people who were famous for them. The wonderful thing about these albums is that they can be reprinted as many times as necessary. My friend has daughters and nieces who were all getting married within a few months of each other. She gave a copy to each of the brides as a special wedding present. The tears certainly flowed as they opened their beautiful gifts.
At Scrapper’s Guide we have created a template recipe book called “Sentimental Sweets” from our Sugar and Spice kit. It features a recipe page on one side and a photo page on the other. There are a variety of photo pages, and they can be mixed and matched to suit your own personal theme.
