Welcome to our new featured artist Mary Monistere Dargis, owner of Nola Originals and DigitalPhotoBookPages . She comes to us this November in the season of being "Thankful" to share about herself and to of course share some awesome "Thankful" freebies! Lets start by getting to know a bit about her!
"I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. I’m happily married with 2 grown daughters. Having this digital scrapbooking hobby got me through the “after affects” of Hurricane Katrina. Although, at the time, I did not know it was actually called digital scrapbooking! I was just “creating” on my laptop. It’s something that I can get completely lost in for hours. So many people here lost every photo they owned from the water of Katrina. I hunt down photos from everywhere, and create as many photobooks as I can for gifts.
I’ve been digi-scrapping for several years. I used the free program, Gimp and paint.NET until about a year ago when I got a used Photoshop Elements 7. It offered so much that I went wild with it and have never looked back! Being a visual learner with ADHD, I am not a good “reader of directions”. So everything I’ve learned about digi-scrapping, and creating (the paper, embellishments, etc), I’ve had to experiment until I figured it out."
Here are a few layouts that Mary created to inspire all of you! Enjoy!
