Along with that, I wanted to share some ideas and tips for getting good pictures of your child throughout the school year so you can have some fun pictures to work with as you make your child's school album.

It's really fun to interview your child during the year and ask questions like, “What’s your favorite subject?” and “Who is your best friend?” etc. This can give you many ideas for picture subjects and journaling topics that will truly personalize a scrapbook.

The sample for today's giveaway page has a picture that my son's teacher took of him sitting at his desk during class. This sort of photo is like an unexpected bonus. I was lucky his teacher happened to take it!

If you have the opportunity to visit your child's class during his or her birthday week, or if you volunteer, grab your camera and take a few photos during your visit. No matter how hard I try, it seems I can never take too many pictures of my kids during school! :) You will be glad of any pictures you managed to take when you're ready to work on that album of your child's school year!

Yin : Her Creative Style

Yin, from Yin Designs talks to us about her creative style. She also shares a project close to her heart. Enjoy!

What is your creative style and who or what inspires you most?

"I don’t know if you can call it a style! My layouts tend to be focused on photos (lots of them) and I prefer a clean look with minimal embellishments. Sharon of Ksharonk Designs’ was my first lovely inspiration when I started, and Ali Edwards is the other, many others inspire me now. I also get ideas from magazines, book covers, advertisements, anything in print!"

What endearing project are you working on right now?

"Most of the time I’m working on our travel album – currently it is our Hokkaido trip. I am also working on a album of ‘stories from our everyday’ telling the cute, funny, momentous stories that happen – the first 10 pages have been completed you can see some of them on the blog in this post. Here’s one of them – a ‘story’ of my son Jared’s childhood best friend – Miffy – he wrote an Ode to Miffy!"

We have a lot of information in store for you from Yin and I know you will enjoy getting to know about her and her work! Tell us about yourself.

"I was born in and have lived all my life in my lovely island country of Singapore. My husband and I have been married 16 years and been friends since we were 15. Our sons are eleven and thirteen and growing up way too fast! I'm an accountant by training and work part time. That's why I'm so addicted to digi-scrapbooking - it's my much needed creative outlet, and of course I really love the 'recording' of our life."

Tell us about your digi-scrap background.

"I started digiscrapping in June 2006, after only a few months paper scrapping. Once I started I couldn’t stop! Basically I started by playing around with an old copy of photoshop 5 that dh had on his computer. I borrowed books from the library and scoured sites for tutorials. Soon I even designed kits for sale and it was so much fun, I was in creative heaven so to speak, walking, thinking, dreaming design ideas all the time. I gave it up a year later as I was just not able to keep up and was neglecting other important areas in my life. Most of all I wanted to scrap my own layouts and document our travels and moments! Soon I started sharing templates from my layouts and had great feedback, and the template blog store was born!"
