Exciting News!
Shutterfly now allows you to create a Simple Path photo books with pictures from Facebook – your pictures, your friends’ pictures, and any picture where you’re tagged. You can now create Simple Path books with a mixture of picture sources: your computer, Facebook, and your Shutterfly account. Give it a try!

Tell us about yourself.
"I am a 28yo WAHM of two little girls, living in Melbourne, Australia. I have been with my partner for almost 12 years now - true highschool sweethearts! I am a digi addict, complete bookworm and Twilight obsessed!"
Tell us about your digi-scrap background.
"I started digi-scrapping around 2 years ago, after a gentle nudge from a friend. I started out with a basic program and soon progressed to Paint Shop Pro & Photoshop. I was lucky enough to have two good friends holding my hand through the learning process. And at other times I just dove in and gave it a go – trial & error got me here! "

What is your favorite Holiday?
"My absolute hands down favorite holiday is Halloween! I love the mischief in the air this time of year! I always go all out, I get costumes for the whole family, decorate the heck out of our place, the whole nine yards! Last Halloween, we all dressed up as characters from my favorite movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, with my fiance and I as Jack and Sally. We even placed in a costume contest that night! And I’m not ashamed to say, I made my mom take a photo of us in the classic Jack and Sally pose because I already had my layout mapped out in my brain when I asked her to! I have no idea how we will top this off for Halloween this next year, but it is NEVER too early to start thinking about it!"

We thought it would be fun to put a challenge out there for all of you. We challenge you to take the mini-kit that Jennifer has provided and create a Shutterfly photo book that incorporates the mini-kit. Be creative and use your own flair in the book. You can use other graphics as well but we would love for you to try to incorporate Jennifer Howland's kit as much as possible.

Share a bit about your photography background.
"Well, I am no professional. But I have studied up on a few things online so I could effectively take better photos for my scrapbook pages. I am always in search of the perfect candid moments with my kids. I do take posed photos of them too, but I think the best ones are when they’re caught just going about their everyday life."
What digital software do you use?
"I use Adobe Photoshop CS3. My favorite technique when making layouts is adding drop shadows, which I think is a subtle art. My best piece of advice to give on this matter is to think of real life when you shadow your embellishments and how that would really look if you were making a physical page instead."

Tell us where you hangout on-line. "Well, Facebook of course. Who doesn’t these days? I even have a fanpage and I always love for more people to come join in the fun. I do lots of special deals just for face book fans too, wink wink! Otherwise, I spend a lot of time at the Scrapable forum, as I’ve become fast friends with a lot of the girls there. I think we really have a great bunch!"
What is your favorite piece of technology?
"Really? I have to pick one? I horde technological gadgets! But I suppose I definitely couldn’t live without my computer, which I just got at the end of last year, an HP with a ton of ram, lots of capabilities for gaming, and of course, efficient for Photoshop. Plus, it has a nice big flat screen monitor, which I LOVE for designing and scrapping!"

Thought it might be cool to show you some fun I had with Erin Tietz'squickpage freebie that she shared with us. It was a breeze to use. All I did was add a photo of my husband and I and added some journaling within the software Photoshop Elements. It was just that easy! I will be getting the layout printed as a single square print at Shutterfly and will add it to my scrapbook album! It was easy and fun to create and I cherish the "Date Night" memory!
Hey, by they way, you may have noticed that because my photo size was portrait (taller than wide) I rotated the layout before I started creating so that the photo spot fit my photo size needs better. It was easy to rotate the layout in Photoshop Elements and my photo now fits perfectly into the photo well. Hope that tip is helpful.

"I love this layout. The photo was taken on Easter this year. It is my daughter and my cousin’s daughter sharing some giggly glee together. It’s not so often we all get to see each other, so I thought this small moment shared between them was something special to be captured. That and c’mon, they’re cute!"
