Traci Reed , of Traci Reed Designs shares some creative inspiration with us.

What is your creative style and who or what inspires you most?

"I definitely am a bright, fun, happy scrapper and designer. I like things to look realistic and have clean lines. Minimalism and starkness isn’t my thing, give me gorgeous color and texture any day! My biggest inspiration is every day life. If you look at my products, they’re all about things that happen to everyone, every day. There are kits for swimming at the pool, there are kits to celebrate people’s quirks, roller rink kits, and even kits about life struggles."

What is your favorite Holiday?

"My absolute hands down favorite holiday is Halloween! I love the mischief in the air this time of year! I always go all out, I get costumes for the whole family, decorate the heck out of our place, the whole nine yards! Last Halloween, we all dressed up as characters from my favorite movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas, with my fiance and I as Jack and Sally. We even placed in a costume contest that night! And I’m not ashamed to say, I made my mom take a photo of us in the classic Jack and Sally pose because I already had my layout mapped out in my brain when I asked her to! I have no idea how we will top this off for Halloween this next year, but it is NEVER too early to start thinking about it!"

What is your favorite piece of technology and why?

"That’s a tough question because they all work together so closely. Each one is better because the other exists. If I had to choose one I think it would be my computer. Work, life, documentation, celebration, education, creativity – so many things happen on that screen. "

Share a favorite digital technique that you love to use.

"I am a pretty simple digital scrapbooker. What I really love to do is use digital journal blocks, add my text, and print on cardstock to be used on paper pages. I want to give people simple, lovely products to help them tell their stories more completely."

A New Year's Resolution : From Kate Teague

Kate Teague, Two Peas Garden Girl, shares a New Year's resolution:

"This year as I had all of my layouts printed into books for gifts I realized that I am not present in near enough of my pages. I am writing down my daughter’s life story but am often forgetting to write my family story. For this next year, one of my goals is to get in front of the camera more and to make more pages that include me. I am in some of my pages, but I know that I would have loved to have some of my Mom’s thoughts in a book about being a new mother and the trials and tribulations of motherhood."

Hybrid Inspiration : A Challenge from Katie Pertiet!

"Last year I printed out my holiday images onto fabric, tore the fabric and sewed it onto card stock for gift tags for presents. The sewing machine has to be one of my favorite tools for scrapping and creating art! I challenge you to take out your sewing machine and see where it takes you! Or you can always snag some digital stitches at digitaldesigners ."

"For us. the holidays are all about the little details!! I love capturing 100's (if not 1000's) of photos of featuring our family traditions of decorating, baking and other festivities. I'm looking forward to making our holiday album again highlighting our favorite memories of the season!

Scrapbooking for me is not only a way for me to create art but also a way for me to capture the details. Due to the fact I do take so many pictures, I look for ways to make journalling quick yet beautiful and that's why I find the use of journal cards a BIG bonus !!!

This holiday season I'll be making a huge collection of fun holiday journal cards and tags and can't wait to get those in the store!! Early November those will appear in my store!!"
