What is your favorite piece of technology (ie. Your camera, your computer, your scanner?) and why?
"Definitely my camera. As a mother, I am amazed at how fast the years fly, and without my camera I would soon forgot so many precious memories. A very close second, is my computer. I have met so many friends online and that daily connect is a big part of my life now."
Share a bit about your photography background. Ie., What style photography do you incorporate into your projects, and why?
"I don’t do anything fancy with my photo-taking, it’s literally just point and shoot. I want to remember the moments how they are, natural and free, without posing and forced smiles-- lol"
Lita has a handful of freebies (and awesome $1.00 items) available via her blog. Check them out, download some freebies, and create something that lasts a lifetime!
Have you checked out the "Picture More" Shutterfly Community Blog lately? I sometimes search the internet with tunnel vision only seeking out the sites specifically focused on what I consider to be "digital scrapbooking." I often have to remind myself that anything having to do with photography (or preserving memories) and the internet truly equals "Digital Scrapbooking" and that there are some very fun and simplistic ways to achieve my memory keeping.
The "Picture More" Blog has some interesting articles from well know digi scrappers and digi artists but also has practical information about photo book creation, photography tips, creative product ideas, life inspiration and so much more. I encourage everyone to click on over and enjoy the inspiration at the "Picture More" Blog.
What is your creative style and who or what inspires you most?
"I’m not sure how to explain my style, in both design and scrapbooking. I’m a little eclectic I guess. I sometimes opt for simple, clean lines, whilst at other times go crazy with colour and detail and funk! My children inspire me a lot, be it through the things they do or say, a cute outfit they have etc etc I’m big on colour too – magazine ads, fabric, a drawing from my children. Colour is often the starting point of a kit for me."
What digital software do you use?
"I use Photoshop CS4, and my favourite technique is Inner Shadow/Inner Glow. It really adds so much dimension so quickly."
Melita created a simple, clean, quickpage for all of us to download for free. You just need to drop your own photo into the quickpage and add any journaling that you may want. These square pages can be printed at home or printed at Shutterfly and added one page at a time to your scrapbook.
Enjoy the quickpage and please remember that this freebie is for personal use only.
Since our Blog is about celebrating “Everyday Life” we asked Melita Blake , of Litabells Designs to share a layout and a quick paragraph telling us about an Everyday Celebration and what made it so special.
"This photo never fails to make me smile. I let my youngest daughter loose with our spare camera and her face lit up. I have lots of photos of thumbs and eyes, and blur, but mostly her huge grin."
I have had this great black & white picture of my boys and their buddies sipping on IZZE's soda for about a year now. It screams VINTAGE fun! When I saw Lita Blake's freebie card I knew I had to use the card and photo together. (The color scheme felt so perfect!) I hope you find some wonderful inspiration in the freebie as well. ***You can always send your creation to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I may just post your work of art here too!
I am definitely having this printed as a card set at Shutterfly!
Melita Blake , of Litabells Designshas created a very simplistic and beautiful card for each of us to download and use. The "Sea Glass Quickcard" has been created in perfect Shutterfly size so that you are able to get your card printed if you desire. I am thrilled with this stunning download and will be creating a card soon. (I will post it here for you guys to see soon!)

"Gotta Pixel has a regular chat & challenge schedule, and I try to attend as many chats/speedscraps as possible – I want to get to know the members! It can be difficult with the time differences, but a good chat session is worth a late night! "
What cool / fun / funky/ endearing project are you working on right now?
"I am currently working on an ‘ism’ kit, with all the random sayings my friends & I regularly use. It’s like we have our own language some days and I want to remember these crazy moments."
