What is your creative style?

My style is greatly affected by my 25 years of graphic design experience. I envy so many of the talented scrappers I see who can create in a more complex, layered, casual style. I find it difficult to see beyond the ingrained rules of print design, which dictate legibility, simplicity and other constraints. My goal is to try and loosen up my style and try to work more spontaneously.

Who or what inspires you most?

Anything can inspire me, but I am most likely to be motivated by unusual pairings of color, or materials. I also love the playfulness of scale, such as what is seen with Claus Oldenburg’s sculptures. Textures fascinate me and I like to photograph them to create overlays.
